At Oak + Valley Doula Co, our goal is to bring the most individualized and personal doula services to the families we serve. We realize each family is so different in their hopes and goals for pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood so our desire is to match that energy and hop on board as your village, because it sure does take a village! As experienced birth and postpartum doulas our professional backgrounds bring you evidence based information alongside a desire to serve your family based on the variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures that we get the honor of serving. As birth and postpartum doulas we get to do what we love every single day, and as mothers we realize that value in what we offer, and we know how important it is to have this support!

Hi I'm Jess, owner of Oak + Valley Doula Co. I'm originally from Boone, NC, but i've been calling Raleigh my home for the past 3 years, and even though I'm a mountain girl at heart, I have loved living in the Triangle. I have two kiddos, Cam who is eleven and Max who is nine. I'm also about to be married to my Fiance Charlie this coming November! I got started in birthwork when I was in highschool! I had a very close friend get pregnant and I got the honor of being with her when she had her baby, and it was at that moment that I realized how incredible birth is and how much I wanted to somehow be a part of that process. I ended up connecting with a local doula who let me shadow her and then eventually helped me get certified as a birth doula. I then went to Appalachian State University where I majored in Child Development and Psychology and then worked in social work for about eleven years. All the while joining in births when I got the chance and then getting to experience my own births really solidified how much I wanted birthwork to be what I did as a career. Fast forward to now, and I am a Childbirth Educator and Infant Specialist at WakeMed and back in January Jayme and I opened Oak + Valley Doula Co. where I get to serve families as a birth and postpartum doula. Its seriously been my proffessional dreams coming true! I value the work that we do and I truly understand the importance of support during this time in a families life, and I am so grateful that I am getting this opportunity to bring our mission of support to the people in our community!

Oak + Valley Doula is the absolute BEST! My first pregnancy and delivery left me with a decent amount of trauma and Jess helped me push alll of that aside and have the BEST and most successful delivery with my second. I recommend them so so much! It was seamless and she helped me set up my plan and get everything I needed for delivery!
